A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat...

Mon Apr 20, 2009, 6:22 AM
Hideeho...

My Mech Eng TAFE course is really starting to irritate me. Tuesday consists of 13 hours containing 3 dead boring classes, the last being 4 hours of calculus, going from 5:30 to 9:30 pm. I'll be extremely stoked when this is all over.

My gorgeous girlfriend Tess recently did some modeling for a friend of hers who goes to the Photographic Studies College in Southbank (the photos look incredible), and I fear the students there gave me the bug. I was fortunate enough to use a Canon 1DsMkIII (a ~AU$11,000 camera body) which belongs to another student who was there at the time. F*** me, that is a phenomenal camera. I won't own a body of its caliber for a long time to come yet, but i am looking forward to the sliver of a chance that I might.

But maybe, when I get into the uni course, with its shorter hours, I could do a part time course at some photo college. I don't know why, but I really want to be involved in it now.

My dear 70-200mm f/4L IS took a bit of a tumble, and one of its body barrels was fractured, leaving the lens mount hanging on by wires. It'll cost me up to $400 to get it fixed. It's well worth it. That lens is amazing. Lesson learnt; KEEP YOUR LENSES AND CAMERA BODIES IN BAGS! You loose the aesthetic appeal, but the photos you take with the lenses are more important than showcasing them.

Time to sleep; School starts in 9 hours. I'll be back home in 22 hours, though...

Cheers,

Lee

hey hey,

I've been stressing out about school. I've had stuff all time to do anything with school homework and the job, so my shooting rate has fallen a bit. Holidays are coming up soon, so I should be getting back into it.

What have you been up to?
Ahh I know what stress is like, and not being able to do much photography - I feel a bit uncreative at the moment haha

Maybe you could get Tess to model for you over the holidays! I'm trying to round up Emma and my friends to model for me, they're not so enthused

I'm working in two Early learning centers at the moment, one work placement, and the other i'm employed at- still busting my butt to be a teacher

Take good care

Thanks!

I'm not spoiled, but extremely well fed :D

How are you going?
Very much the same, well I didn't have any chocolate but I got taken out to dinner in the city which was awesome! Also enjoying and making the most of my holidays, getting back into photography too. Hows your photography going?

i just broke one of my lenses. it fell off my shelf. Canon say it should be about $400 to fix up, but there is a chance it could be a lot more.
wooooahhh, Liam I hope you can pull $400 out of your butt, that really sucks :( !
